A Mystery Trip!

Corning Senior Bus Trips: June 20, 2017

Genesee Country Village & Museum

Abbey of Genesee

One of the largest living history museums in the country located just outside of Rochester, NY, is also home to the John L. Wehle Gallery and a nature center. A free trolley circles the village all day allowing you to explore at your leisure.

Learn about monastic life at Genesee which is made up of a balanced daily round of prayer and manual labor in an atmosphere of simplicity, silence, and fraternal support. Don't forget to pick up some Monk Bread!

Finish the day with the Christmas Tree Shops and dinner at the Golden Corral. What a delicious way to conclude our trip!

Corning Senior Bus Trips: July 12, 2017

Mount Morris Dam

Letchworth Park Tour

Wohlschlegel's Maple Farm

Built in the late 1940's the dam continues to provide flood protection along 67 miles the Genesse River Valley. Enjoy a short talk with a Park Ranger at a fully accessible overlook point and then enjoy the visitors center which inclues a short 15 minute video about the dam.

Later, we will pick-up our step-on guide for a tour through Letchworth state park. This tour will include 2-3 stops at scenic overlooks, some of which can be seen directly from the bus!

We break for lunch at the Glen Iris Inn with a splendid waterfall view.

Our last stop is to Wolschlegel's Naples Maple Farm wherre to experience a guided tour of a family run, stat-of-the-art, working maple farm. Along with the tour there will be free samples and a they have a retail store on property with many goodies to scoop right up!

Corning Senior Bus Trips: Aug. 15 - 16, 2017

Herkimer, NY Overnight!

Get ready for an adventure!

Day 1: Enjoy a tour, tasting, and souvenirs at the Fly Creek Cider Mill. Then visit the Herkimer Diamond Mines for some outdoor sluicing. Next, stop at the Utica Zoo and finish off the day with dinner at the Waterfront Grille.

Overnight: We will be spending the night at the Red Roof Inn which offers a pool and fitness center and complimentary breakfast.

Day 2: Today we will spend the day experiencing an Erie Canal Living History Cruise. Beginning with a tour at the Herkimer House, then watch a costumed presentation of 18th century chocolate making, next enjoy a "Promised Land BBQ" for lunch, cruise your way down the Erie Canal, experiencing at least one lock, and finish your tour with shopping at "Gems Along the Mohawk". We will end our trip with dinner at Cracker Barrel on our way home!

Solar Eclipse In Idaho

 Take  tour of the vast high plains and rugged mountains of the American west admiring nature's beauty, both around you and in the sky as a solar eclipse takes place.

Day One — Arrive in Utah Begin your Solar Eclipse adventure as you gather in Salt Lake City, Utah. Meet your Tour Manager in the lobby at 6:00 p.m. for a welcome dinner. Dinner

Day Two — Shoshone Falls and Boise We depart Utah this morning en route to Idaho. We make a stop at spectacular Shoshone Falls, known as the "Niagara of the West." With a 212 foot drop and a width of 900 feet, it is one of the largest natural waterfalls in the country. Later, we arrive in Boise, where our hotel and included dinner await. Breakfast and dinner

Day Three — Solar Eclipse Day Today we are taken to a specially-selected location to view one of the earth's great wonders, a total solar eclipse. Special protective eye-wear and delicious hot lunch will be provided for this one-in-a-lifetime event. Breakfast and lunch

Day Four — Museum of Idaho and Cody Nite Rodeo This morning we stop at Hell's Half Acre Lava Trail System. The contorted landscapes were created from multiple Hawaiian-type lava flows, the result of intense volcanic activity more than 2,000 years ago. Then, as we cross through Yellowstone National Park en route to Cody, Wyoming we stop at storied Old Faithful Geyser, named for its regular eruptions about every 80 to 90 minutes. Tonight, we enjoy reserved seats to the fabulous Cody Nite Rodeo. Breakfast and dinner

Day Five — Yellowstone National Park Today we tour Yellowstone, the world's first national park, featuring renowned geysers and thermal basins. See the awesome 1,200-foot-deep Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, including views from Inspiration and Lookout Points. Travel through Dunraven Pass and Tower Junction to the terraced formations of Mammoth Hot Springs. Also, we see Norris Geyser Basin, filled with an incredible variety of steam vents, mud pots, geysers, and hot springs. Breakfast and dinner

Day Six — Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum Tracing its roots back to 1917, the Buffalo Bill Museum is the flagship museum of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Since first opening its doors in 1927 as a log cabin in downtown Cody, the museum has grown to include the Cody Firearms Museum, Plains Indian Museum and the Whitney Western Art Museum. Later, we cross the border into Montana for dinner and a two-night stay. Breakfast and dinner

Day Seven — Pompeys Pillar and Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument morning we visit Pompeys Pillar National Monument. See the only remaining physical evidence on the trail of the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803-1806. Then we travel through Big Sky country to the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. Stroll the exhibits in the museum, see the monument dedicated to those who fought here and learn the story of the 7th Cavalry and the Sioux and Cheyenne who lost their lives in 1876. Breakfast and dinner

Day Eight — Travel Home After breakfast transfer to the Billings airport for flights home anytime today. Breakfast

"Ghost, The Musical"

Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg made the movie one of the biggest hits of all time. Not the story comes alive onstage in a very funny, very suspenseful, and very romantic musical love story for the whole family. With terrific special effects, a great contemporary score (including "Unchained Melody") and a big heart, this gem of a musical is out of this world!

Spotlight on San Antonio

Experience It! The San Antonio Missions  Along the San Antonio River sit five Spanish colonial era Catholic missions: Mission San Antonio de Valero, Mission San José, Mission Concepción, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada. In the 18th century, these Spanish-built missions were established in an effort to convert the native inhabitants to Spanish allegiance. Spend time exploring the Mission San José and San Antonio de Valero (commonly known as the Alamo). Hear the tales of the Alamo where an important piece of American history took place - the tragic Battle of the Alamo of 1836. Because of the missions' historic and cultural significance, in 2015 they were named a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the first site in Texas to receive this designation and one of only twenty-three in all of the United States.
